Animal Blood Bank
Newton Veterinary Hospital Is Proud To Offer The Region’s Only Animal Blood Bank
Pets, just like humans, may require blood transfusions for genetic, surgical, chronic or emergency illnesses. With on-site stored blood products, resident feline donors, and an emergency donor list, Newton Veterinary’s Animal Blood Bank provides life-saving blood transfusions 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Our resident donors are rescued felines for whom time already is running out and who would otherwise have been euthanized. They are donors for a specified amount of time, after which we help them find permanent, loving homes. They have passed a screening process which includes physical examination, temperament analysis, blood testing, and vaccinations.
